Introduction

Embedl AB, a corporation organized under the laws of Sweden (“Embedl”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with applicable law. This policy explains how and why we collect and use personal data from clients, partners, suppliers, visitors to sites we own and control, and people who interact with Embedl staff.

For hfviewer, this includes information you provide through model-ready notification forms, newsletter forms, and product update opt-ins, plus technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Who we are

Embedl is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our contact details are:

  • Email: contact@embedl.com
  • Postal address: Gamla Almedalsvägen 39, 41263 Gothenburg, Sweden
  • Phone: +46 730 632 837

Our websites and services are not intended for persons under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect data from or direct marketing at such persons.

The data we collect

Personal data means information about an individual from which that person can be identified. We may collect, use, store, and transfer:

  • Identity data, such as first name, last name, title, and organization role.
  • Contact data, such as email address, postal address, social or messaging handles, and phone number.
  • Transaction and relationship data connected to products, services, purchases, or professional interactions.
  • Marketing and communications data, including whether you opted into marketing or product updates.
  • Technical and usage data, such as browser information, page views, requested model URLs, load failures, and aggregated analytics.

We do not collect special categories of personal data through hfviewer forms, such as race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, political opinions, or health data.

How data is collected

We collect data through:

  • Direct interactions, such as filling in a form, requesting a model-ready notification, subscribing to a newsletter, opting into updates, or contacting us.
  • Automated technologies, such as cookies and similar browser storage where needed for functionality, analytics, or remembering preferences.
  • Third parties and public sources, such as analytics, technical service providers, payment or delivery services, and publicly available professional information.

How we use personal data

We use personal data where the law allows us to, including:

  • To perform a contract or maintain a business or professional relationship.
  • To respond to inquiries or provide requested information.
  • For legitimate interests, such as operating, securing, improving, and explaining our products and services.
  • To comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
  • Where you have consented, including sending marketing emails, newsletters, surveys, or product updates.

hfviewer separates one-time model-ready notifications from broader update opt-ins. If you leave an email only for a model-ready notification, we use it for that notification. If you also check the updates box, we record a separate opt-in for occasional hfviewer updates, new model visualizations, and product news.

We do not use personal data for automated decision making or profiling.

Marketing choices

You may receive marketing communications from us if you requested information, engaged in a professional or business relationship with us, or consented to receive these messages. We will get your express opt-in consent before sharing personal data with a third party for marketing purposes.

You can ask us to stop sending marketing messages at any time by contacting us at contact@embedl.com.

We do not engage in the sale of personal data, except in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of shares, business, or assets, and only as permitted by applicable law.

Disclosures and international transfers

We may share personal data with service providers, professional advisers, affiliated entities, contractors, or other parties where needed to support our products, services, operations, transactions, legal obligations, or protection of rights, safety, and property.

Some external parties may be outside the European Economic Area. When we transfer personal data outside the EEA, we use safeguards such as adequacy decisions, approved contractual terms, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Security and retention

We use appropriate security measures to prevent personal data from being accidentally lost, used, accessed, altered, or disclosed without authorization. We limit access to personal data to people and service providers with a business need to know.

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes we collected it, including legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements.

  • Request access to your personal data.
